     There are two compact discs of the opera IL Trovatore in four acts with a brilliant full orchestra performance with members of the Puerto Rican Symphony Orchestra.

     We invite all the music lovers and opera buffs to participate of a collector’s item rare recording of Giuseppe Verdis’ opera, Il Trovatore, performed with a complete Puertorrican cast of lyric singers at the University of Puerto Rico Theatre in 1973. Even if we know that a pirate recording was distributed more than 20 years ago and out of reach of collectors, because of its great musical and vocal quality, this extraordinary achievement, remembered by many in the world of opera, would be a must in the private collection of opera followers.

     There is an exciting cast of Puertorican singers in a performance headed by soprano Aura Norma Robledo and tenor Jesús Quiñones Ledesma (known by many by his artistic name, Ricardo Ledesma). It is a recording that will impress those who have heard many different versions of this opera. An early version of Il Trovatore, recorded in the 1920’s with tenor Ledesma’s professor, the late renowned Italian baritone Apollo Granforte, tenor Aureliano Pertile and soprano Maria Carbone, reminds such a formidable vocal rendering.
